All events will operate by means of a goodwill donation, with all proceeds collected being donated towards the Friends of Shipwreck Point Lighthouse.
Scavenger Hunt
Stop in at the Red Rock shop at the Harbour to pick up your Scavenger Hunt list. This can be completed throughout the day, with prizes and winners announced at 4PM.
Opening Remarks
12PM - Harbour Office Deck
Join us at the Harbour for our opening remarks and celebrations, featuring cake, BBQ, music, and fun
Bingo and Strawberry Social
1-3PM - Shipwreck Point Cafe
Hosted by the Women's Institute, stop by the Shipwreck Point Cafe to enjoy a delicious Strawberry dessert, and participate in their fundraising bingo.
Children's Games and Activities
12:30-4PM
Enjoy a wide range of children's games and activities, free of cost, including:
1-3PM
Learn all about lobster traps and boats from a real fisherman, and see what it looks like to work on the water. Visitors will have the opportunity to take a short sail out onto the water with an experienced Captain.
Sardine Slurp
1:30 PM
Contestants must race to slurp 10 sardines out of a large bowl of Jello, as fast as they can, without using their hands. The fastest to do so will be the winner.
Float the Boat
2:00PM
Using the buckets provided, teams will compete to fill a large grey fish tub with enough water to float their boat out the top of it, to win the challenge. This activity requires teams of 6; teams may be arranged on site if needed.
Harbour Super Series
3:00PM
Maximum 8 competitors (4 male, 4 female)
Rubber Boot Toss: Players will toss a rubber boot over the run, in an attempt to hit the target. Three tosses each.
Pickle Spit: Players will spit a dill pickle down the wharf, in an attempt to spit it the farthest. Three attempts each.
Trap Stacking: Players will start on the East side of the run, beside a pile of 6 lobster traps. They will carry these traps over the bridge and stack them in place on the West side of the run. The fastest to do so wins.
Water Bucket Challenge: Each player will be given a 5-gallon bucket filled with water. When the whistle blows, they will hoist this bucket over their heads. The player to go the longest without dropping or spilling the bucket will win.
Seaside Relays and Races
4:00PM
Join us on the East Beach and navigate our seaside obstacle course as you race across the sand and over the traps we've set up in an attempt to be the first to cross the finish line.
Sand Sculpture Contest
4:00PM
Show off your creative talent as you sculpt a work of art out of sand. Prizes will be awarded.
Awards and Prizes
5:00PM
Awards and Prizes for the Scavenger Hunt, Harbour Super Series, Sand Sculpture Contest, and more will be announced, with plaques, trophies, and photo opportunities.
Beach Picnic
5-7PM
BYOP: Bring Your Own Picnic! Join us on the Little Beach behind the Red Rock for a community picnic on the sand. Ice cream and treats will be available. Grab a bite to eat and enjoy the ocean view as you prepare for the evening's activities.
Trivia
7-9PM
Get your teams together for Trivia night! Prizes will be awarded. Ages 16+.
This is a non-alcoholic event.
Parade of Lights
9PM
Gather around the wharf at 9PM to watch the Fisherman's Parade of Lights. Local fishing boats will be decked out in bright lights, celebrating this year's theme of 'Shining Bright'. Boats will parade down the run and out into the water, before returning back to the Harbour. Judges will determine the best boat, with a prize to be awarded.
